Discovering Sense

With an event focussed on charity, it is important to heighten peoples empathy. For people to give, they must first feel. This years Platform 09 event was named ’Discovering Sense’, and hoped to connect visitors to the senses of the outside world, and by doing so it will stir something in them emotionally.

Held yearly in the foothills of Fujairah’s mountains, it is the surrounding landscape that people travel far and wide to visit. As a celebration of nature within the area and also as a celebration of humanity, we constructed 9 experience towers aligning with the theme ‘Open Air, Open Mind’.

Within each tower was a physical experience for all the family. The towers were named Solar, Horizon, Atmosphere, Wind, Shadow, Mirage, Energy, Tide and Flora. The event maintained 90 locally sourced artisans to exhibit and sell their products, but also there was an opportunity to climb 15M’s to the horizon, get lost in a mirage maze or play with a 15M touch sensitive atmosphere installation.
