The icon of a circle was used as the brand symbol, which informed a floorplan that created ‘continuous corners’. Nine power colours were selected and creatively explored through their physical effect. Playing upon all the senses, guests could touch, see, smell and even hear these colours within 9 environments that were draped with curtain. Also, within these 9 circular environments, were 100 exhibitors that had actively demonstrated positivity through the difficult period of 2020. Colours determined the personality of each space and the exhibitors within. The 8000 guests, over 5 days, were all invited into the Platform09 community to explore their Power Colours, and most importantly to envisage how they can sustain and amplify their positivity.
The circular forms were manufactured off site as a flat-pack, enabling a quick install and lowering labour costs. After the show, the full structure was recycled – ensuring that all the materials had an afterlife and nothing ended up in landfill. This further ensured a positive and sustainable ethos for the Platform09 exhibition.
