TST Office

This new office was designed in collaboration with Her Royal Highness Sheikha Shamseh Al Sharqi for her group of companies, Twenty Seven Twelve Group, as an ocean inspired boutique that seeks a new type of office ambiance.

There was a deliberate departure from the ‘google approach’ to workplace design, in that the office should be a fun and playful space, and instead a shift towards the office as a calm yet productive environment where wellness is prioritised. A hotel style sky-lounge aesthetic was developed, with uninterrupted exterior views of the sea, to the city and up to the neighbouring mountains. The office aspires to be a welcome change from home, where staff feel perfectly relaxed and special.

Key material explorations include pink sea shell terrazzo for all working desks, sand cast chandeliers, a hammered bronze kitchen to create water ripple reflections and coral-effect lime pebble-dashing. Lastly, a reflective, stretched fabric, pink ceiling runs around the office perimeter and was carefully positioned to collect the external environment and to lift the ceiling height.

Other features include four aquariums positioned in sequence to allow views directly through all of the meeting room spaces. Also, a series of small snug rooms along the corridors with drape-covered walls were included for prayer and for private discussions.

With Sheikha Shamseh’s multiple female empowerment projects, the space became naturally feminine and uplifting, with the hope of reversing the Work-From-Home trend and to bring employees closer together.
