The Foundry is a pop-up workshop space for Dubai Design Week. It welcomed a community of designers, researchers and craftsman to collaborate, interact and manipulate available resources. Hosted by design studio Tinkah, it focuses primarily on a tin box, namely the Tinkah.
The Tinkah is an icon for the studio. It is a utilitarian tin container historically used around the Middle East and tailored for many different purposes. The workshop held in Dubai Design District aspired to encourage these designers, artisans and artists to apply a multi-functional ethos to their thinking and thereby adapt this Tin box for multiple usages.
